Alumni Brothers,
It’s time to get together and have
some fun. Save the date of Sunday September 2nd, as
the DTD Hammond Alumni Chapter and Sun Buns Bar and
Grill (www.sunbuns.biz)
near Manchac are hosting a party. Festivities will
begin about 1:00 pm till whenever. The band “Top
Cats” will be playing and “Tall Tales” will be
flowing. Further details to follow.

Brothers,
As you may be aware, over the past
year a new DTD Hammond Alumni Chapter was formed. We
have accomplished a great deal, with more goals to
reach this year. The Chapter voted for a Board of
Directors, which includes the President, Treasurer
and Secretary (Executive Committee). The Board has
had several meetings and has approved our current
bylaws. The Executive Committee met in addition to
the Board meetings and appointed Social, Active
Chapter and Membership Committee Chairmen and,
recently, an Auction Committee Chairman. This past
March the Chapter approved a new set of bylaws,
which will take effect next January.
We have accomplished a great deal
in our first year, including a golf tournament at
Oak Knoll, Homecoming with the Active Chapter, the
Annual Christmas Party, Friday nights at the
Crescent, a Jambalaya cookout at an SLU baseball
game, Cigar night at Brady’s in Hammond and, most
importantly, the Annual Delt Gala in honor of Tom
Sharp. In addition, the Chapter introduced a new
website, which is accessed by DTDHAC.com. I hope
that you will use the website as your information
resource for events, meeting minutes, news,
pictures, E-Phi roster, history and so much more.
Included on the site is a portal that allows you to
pay
on-line your annual dues ($20) or fees for
events.
Details of upcoming events will be
on the website calendar. We will have
another General Membership meeting in March 2019.
Most importantly, we are planning an exciting
weekend on the 26th and 27th of April to celebrate
E-Phi’s 50th Anniversary. Please mark your calendars
and plan on attending. It will be a great time and
an historic event.
Other goals for the year are to
work closer with the Active Chapter and to increase
Alumni Chapter membership.
I hope that you will join with your
Delt brothers to continue to build our great Alumni
Chapter.
